Celebrity chef and top chef judge Tom Colicchio collaborated with New York-based premium workwear brand Tilit to launch a new apron series that helps keep kids full while protecting clothing and cooking utensils.

Available at TilitNYC. On com, the new limited-edition Tilit x Tom Colicchio apron series offers three limited-edition colors, inspired by the beloved chef’s affinity for the combination of simple design elements and elegant details. Since Colicchio is often spotted wearing Tilit aprons at several Crafted Hospitality restaurants, the opportunity for collaboration is a matter of course.

Colicchio said in a press release: “As we reopen, supporting small businesses like Tilit is critical to the economic recovery of the entire restaurant ecosystem.” “Equally important, we give back to the local community when we rebuild. "

Colicchio is the recipient of five James Beard Foundation Culinary Awards. Before appearing at Top Chef, Colicchio co-founded Gramercy Tavern in New York City in 1994 as a co-owner and executive chef. In 2001, the chef created Crafted Hospitality to expand his brand, which has now opened Craft restaurants in New York City, Long Island, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.

Alex McCrery, who turned from a chef to a designer, and Chief Operating Officer Jenny Goodman, founded Tilit with two chef apron designs, a pair of pants, and a chef's shirt. The line was small at the beginning, but with big plans, and was warmly welcomed. Each of its American-made works are made by talented manufacturers in the center of New York City's clothing district. Nearly 10 years after its establishment in 2012, Tilit still produces 90% of its equipment (including chef aprons) in the same store.

The Tilit x Tom Colicchio series is now limited to blue, green and white rock kitchens. Weighing 10 ounces and made of organic duck cotton canvas and waxed cotton, the apron designed by Tilit will stand the test of time. They also included waterproof chest pockets and Riri zipper closures to ensure that the chef would not walk around in a drenched shirt. Enclosing the package is an elegant detachable brown leather neckband.

Every time you purchase Tilit x Colicchio, you can choose to donate $10 to Edible Schoolyard NYC. All cooperative apron proceeds will have a direct impact on the local community in New York City through a program that serves nearly 3,000 students in the historically underserved Title 1 public schools in the five boroughs.

Aprons can be purchased directly from TilitNYC.com for $115.

"I can't wait to see what you have created in the kitchen. Cook well and eat often!" Colicchio said.
