Colicchio is the recipient of five James Beard Foundation Culinary Awards. Before appearing at Top Chef, Colicchio co-founded Gramercy Tavern in New York City in 1994 as a co-owner and executive chef. In 2001, the chef created Crafted Hospitality to expand his brand, which has now opened Craft restaurants in New York City, Long Island, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
Alex McCrery, who turned from a chef to a designer, and Chief Operating Officer Jenny Goodman, founded Tilit with two chef apron designs, a pair of pants, and a chef's shirt.
